The last Friday in the month of Ramadan is known as Jumu'ah Al Widaa. (Alvida Juma). It feels very sad as we bid goodbye to the month in which we are the guests of Allah - a month whose blessings are unmatched.

رمضان المبارک کے آخری جمعہ کو جمعۃ الوداع کہا جاتا ہے۔ (الوداع جمعہ)۔ یہ بہت افسوسناک محسوس ہوتا ہے جب ہم اس مہینے کو الوداع کہتے ہیں جس میں ہم اللہ کے مہمان ہیں - وہ مہینہ جس کی برکتیں بے مثال ہیں۔

The word juma in itself means congregation. It is a day for congregational prayers, a weekly demonstration of brotherhood of Islam and the unity of the believers. Daily prayers are said individually or in the local mosque.

جمع کا لفظ بذات خود جماعت کے معنی رکھتا ہے۔ یہ اجتماعی نمازوں کا دن ہے، ہفتہ وار اسلام کے اخوت اور مومنین کے اتحاد کا مظاہرہ۔ روزانہ کی نمازیں انفرادی طور پر یا مقامی مسجد میں ادا کی جاتی ہیں۔

The first Juma prayers were held at Quba - 3.5 miles from Madina. When the Prophet (s) arrived at Quba on his way from Mecca during hijra, he first arranged for the building of a masjid there. Then he delivered a sermon and offered the Friday prayers before proceeding to Mecca.

جمعہ کی پہلی نماز مدینہ سے ساڑھے تین میل دور قبا میں ہوئی۔ ہجرت میں جب پیغمبر اکرم (ص) مکہ سے جاتے ہوئے قبا پہنچے تو سب سے پہلے وہاں ایک مسجد کی تعمیر کا انتظام کیا۔ پھر مکہ روانہ ہونے سے پہلے خطبہ دیا اور نماز جمعہ ادا کی۔

The Prophet (s) has said: "Indeed the 24 hours of the night and day of Friday belong to Allah, in every hour there are six hundred thousand opportunities of freedom from the fire." Remember that the night precedes the day and therefore Juma begins at Maghrib on Thursday.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: "بیشک جمعہ کی رات اور دن کے چوبیس گھنٹے اللہ کے لیے ہیں، ہر گھڑی میں آگ سے آزادی کے چھ لاکھ مواقع ہیں۔" یاد رہے کہ رات دن سے پہلے ہوتی ہے اور اس لیے جمعہ جمعرات کو مغرب سے شروع ہوتا ہے۔

It is highly recommended to do the ghusl of Juma preferably between Fajr and Zohar (as near to Zohar as possible). Wearing neat clean clothes, cutting nails, trimming hair and applying scent are all recommended on Juma.

جمعہ کے غسل کو ترجیحاً فجر اور ظہر کے درمیان (جتنا ممکن ہو ظہر کے قریب) کرنا مستحب ہے۔ جمعہ کے دن صاف ستھرے کپڑے پہننا، ناخن کاٹنا، بال تراشنا اور خوشبو لگانا مستحب ہے۔

Reciting of Ayatul Kursi, Suratul Juma, Suratul Ikhlas and Salawaat are also recommended. Juma is associated with the Imam of our time, Imam Mahdi (a). He was born on a Friday and it is reported that in hadith that the ZAhOor of Imam will be on a Friday.

آیت الکرسی، سورۃ الجمعہ، سورۃ اخلاص اور صلوات کی تلاوت بھی مستحب ہے۔ جمعہ کا تعلق ہمارے زمانے کے امام، امام مہدی علیہ السلام سے ہے۔ آپ کی ولادت جمعہ کے دن ہوئی اور احادیث میں آیا ہے کہ امام کی ظہور جمعہ کے دن ہوگی۔

It is highly recommended to give sadaqa for Imam Mahdi's (a) safety on Juma and recite Dua Nudba and Ziyara of Imam Mahdi (a). It is a day when we should remember our marhumeen and pray for their maghfira, give sadaqa and do good deeds for them especially in the month of Ramadan.

جمعہ کے دن امام مہدی (ع) کی حفاظت کے لئے صدقہ دینے اور دعائے ندابہ اور زیارت امام مہدی (ع) کی تلاوت کرنے کی بہت زیادہ سفارش کی جاتی ہے۔ یہ وہ دن ہے جب ہمیں اپنے مرحومین کو یاد کرنا چاہیے اور ان کے لیے مغفرت کی دعا کرنی چاہیے، صدقہ دینا چاہیے اور خاص طور پر رمضان کے مہینے میں ان کے لیے نیک اعمال کرنا چاہیے۔

There is no way to replace a loved one who has dies but by doing virtue in their memory we build a living memorial. Dedicate at least Juma to the marhumeen. It is also recommended to devote Friday in learning about religion.

مرنے والے پیارے کی جگہ لینے کا کوئی طریقہ نہیں ہے لیکن ہم ان کی یاد میں نیکی کرتے ہوئے ایک زندہ یادگار بناتے ہیں۔ کم از کم جمعہ مرحومین کے لیے وقف کریں۔ جمعہ کو دین کے بارے میں جاننے کے لیے وقف کرنے کی بھی سفارش کی جاتی ہے۔
